- GRC: Glass-reinforced concrete
2.3 Composites
Composite materials are made up of different materials which are combined to improve their properties. They can be a combination of natural and synthetic materials but fall into three main categories.
Types of Composite Materials:

Particle-based composites contain small pieces of material.
- Concrete
- Cermet
Sheet-Based
Boards made from wood pulp, chips or layers of veneer.
- MDF: Medium Density Fibreboard
- Plywood
- Chipboard
Fibre Based Composites

Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete
Section titled “Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete”GRC is a material made using cement, glass fibre and polymers. GRC is made by spraying or pouring fibre mixes into complex shapes. It takes a week to cure and strengthen before GRC is transported to building sites.
